Rome, September 2024 – SottoSopra Art Studio is pleased to announce the inauguration of the solo exhibition of Emiliano Esposto, titled “Children of the Signs.”
Through this new series of works, Esposto takes us on an intimate and visionary journey, where childhood intertwines with the symbols of the zodiac, creating a captivating dialogue between the existential and the mystical dimensions.
The works, strictly in black and white, pay tribute to graphic purity and the essentiality of the sign. The children portrayed by Esposto seem to be figures suspended between dream and reality: delicate, ethereal bodies adorned with ancient marks and zodiac symbols. Each etched sign tells a story, tracing an invisible but powerfully evocative map. The black and white becomes the language through which the artist expresses the tension between the human and the cosmic, between the innocence of childhood and the awareness carried by the symbols.
Esposto, born in Rome (1979), is distinguished by his constant artistic research that blends graphic design, painting, and live performance. After graduating in Advertising Graphics, he worked as an illustrator and graphic designer before broadening his creative horizon to theatrical set design. His art, always balancing experimentation and tradition, often integrates recycled materials and forms of multidisciplinary expression, giving rise to shows where painting, music, and dance merge into a synesthetic and immersive experience.
