Matter and color the essence of creation

This exhibition puts Gabriella Munzi's vibrant and engaging abstract paintings in dialogue with the terracotta sculptures of Margherita Giovagnoli and some talented young artists she supports.

This exhibition brings painting and sculpture into dialogue through Gabriella Munzi's lively and engaging abstract paintings and the terracotta sculptures of Margherita Giovagnoli and some talented young artists Debora Foschi, Maria Chiara Polisca, Pamela Ranya and Stefania Silva.

Gabriella Munzi after 30 years of living in China and traveling all over the world, returned to Rome and founded the Damablu association, with the dream of creating a space for meeting and cultural exchange by welcoming artistic projects open to national and international influences.

During her long stay in China she began to paint and model clay, achieving some success; she was invited to exhibit one of her works, depicting a horse's head, at the headquarters of an important private collection in Taiwan, where it is still on display.

With an eye toward the world of contemporary performance and visual art, she serves as a point of reference for artists of various generations and backgrounds, emerging and established: painters, sculptors, musicians, writers and photographers.

Margherita Giovagnoli, with more than 30 years of experience as a teacher and ceramic artist, has devoted her career to working with clay in a variety of styles and firing techniques.

In the exhibition, Gabriella Munzi's painting and Margherita Giovagnoli's and her students' ceramics create a dialogue between material and color, experience and innovation, figurative and abstract art.
