During the Rome Art Week from Monday, October 21 to Saturday, October 26, 2024, the artist will offer at his atelier an “open studio”(Via Buzzi 193, Fonte Ostiense),in which visitors will be able to see the entire collection of “Spirits,” the preparatory paintings for the realization of the project: '26 Free Spirits Cross the Bridges of Fonte Ostiense. About the use of the word Spirit Spirit, from Latin spirĭtus -us 'breath, breath, vital spirit', der. of spirare 'to breathe out'; But also and above all: diffuse, intangible presence, genius. As a child I played with anything that could become a character in a story; I still do. I call spirits all those natural elements, beached logs, rocks, spots, clouds, that the imagination transforms into imaginary beings while never depriving them of their nature: I take a picture and the spirit immediately comes to life in its natural environment ( #ale_indacospirits ). Painting it is something else. To invent a Spirit is to be able to first grasp its movement, its image. 26 Free Spirits cross the Bridges of Fonte Ostiense Harmless and helpless, they only wish to pass. These are original paintings on parchment paper of various sizes attached to the walls and removable (at the end of their “passage”), located at different points of the 'Bridges' of Fonte Ostiense up to the Laurentina Library. They represent the movement of that humanity that does not give up the journey, the discovery; they are progenitors and descendants of an Ulysses who never returned. The project, “26 Spirits cross the Bridges - 26 Spirits cross the Bridges,” will take place on a date to be determined in accordance with and subject to the availability of City Hall IX. During the week of RAW, visitors will also be able to see screenings of videos regarding the “Poetry is a Place” (#piaplab) workshops held in Chicago, Rome and Frosinone and the original 'Postcards' (@poetryisaplace).
