Urbanism of the possible 2

urbanism of the possible 2

http://Urbanism of the Possible 2 Pietro Dente’s city is a city to be observed rather than inhabited. It is Hopper’s suspended city, a New York often emptied of people, where architecture and windows become inner landscapes. It is also the city of the Impressionists, shaped by light, movement, and the transformation of perception. As in Caillebotte’s views, Pissarro’s streets, or de Chirico’s plazas, the urban becomes a condition of perception. What matters is not the city as a geographical space, but as image, memory, and possibility. Dente gathers fragments, perspectives, and silences, freeing them from their everyday function. His works construct places that seem familiar, yet impossible to locate. A city without chronology, suspended between experience and imagination. In this sense, “urbanism” becomes an artistic act: the organization not of space, but of the gaze. Urbanism of the Possible 2 is thus a possible city, still waiting to be seen.
