"Elaborazione del trauma" is Arianna Ciolli's exhibition that investigates trauma as a set of elements and events capable of deeply impacting people's growth and lives.
The journey begins with the biographical experience of childhood: a personal memory that becomes a field of investigation and which the artist relates to contemporary childhood, a child of its time.
From this comparison arises a dialogue between different generations, which questions the strong influence exerted by new technologies and today's habits on the younger generations, and what this change entails in terms of imagery, relationships, and self-perception.
The look then broadens to the themes of weapons and war, focusing on the indelible mark they leave on the growth and development of children born in territories victims of abuses and injustices.
The works rely above all on the violent contrast between worlds that should remain distant and that instead end up overlapping, generating a visual and emotional short circuit that makes the violence of the theft of childhood evident.
Through these two nuclei—one intimate and one collective—the exhibition builds a path in which trauma is not just a wound, but also matter to be observed, named, and processed.
