For Rome Art Week 2026, Giulia Aim opens her studio to the public for the first presentation of Slices of Life - The Time of Nature, an ongoing project that already includes a growing number of works.

Conceived as a series of more than thirty works, Slices of Life originates from the close observation of fruits and vegetables and the discovery of structures, geometries, and repetitions that emerge through shifts in scale. Large circular panels transform sections of familiar forms into magnified images, creating a dialogue between macro and micro while drawing attention to the hidden architecture of nature.

The Open Studio invites visitors to experience the project before its completion, offering a rare glimpse into the process behind the series. Alongside a selection of completed works, studies, works in progress, materials, and traces of the creative process will be on view, allowing visitors to discover not only the finished works, but also how Slices of Life is conceived and created within the artist’s studio.

For the occasion, the studio will become an immersive, multisensory environment that brings the artworks closer to their natural source. Real fruits and vegetables will be presented alongside the works, creating a direct connection between the painted subjects and their physical forms. Texture, scent, and sound will expand the experience beyond the visual, inviting visitors to encounter the project through multiple senses.

The Time of Nature invites visitors to slow down and rediscover what we often pass by without truly observing: colours, structures, surfaces, and rhythms present within the most ordinary forms of the natural world. Seasonality, cyclicality, and transformation become part of an experience that redirects attention towards natural rhythms and processes increasingly distant from those of contemporary society.

Rather than presenting a completed project, the Open Studio offers temporary access to a practice that is still unfolding: an opportunity to meet the artist, preview the works, and witness the development of Slices of Life - The Time of Nature before it reaches its final form.
