Giulia Aim (1998) is a multimedia artist based in Rome. Her practice develops across painting, sculpture, installation, and mixed media, and is characterized by an instinctive and saturated use of colour, experimentation, and an ongoing exploration of perception.
She holds a Graduate Diploma in Fine Art from the University of the Arts London and a degree in Communication from John Cabot University in Rome. Her work has been exhibited internationally, including in Rome, London, and Los Angeles.
Her research begins with the observation of forms, surfaces, and structures found in the natural world and in everyday life. Through shifts in scale, isolation, and transformation of the subject, Giulia Aim draws attention to details and configurations that often go unnoticed, exploring the relationship between macro and micro and the recurrence of patterns, geometries, and structures across different forms of nature.
This research lies at the heart of Slices of Life - The Time of Nature, an ongoing project dedicated to fruits and vegetables. Conceived as a series of more than thirty works, Slices of Life consists primarily of large circular panels depicting familiar forms at an enlarged scale. Magnification removes the subject from its familiar dimensions, revealing colours, symmetries, repetitions, and structures embedded in its natural composition.

The title Slices of Life refers to the idea of each cross-section as a “slice of life”: a fragment through which to observe systems and structures that belong to a larger whole. The Time of Nature introduces the temporal dimension of the research, connected to seasonality, cyclicality, transformation, and the rhythms of the natural world, increasingly distant from those of contemporary society.
Giulia Aim is also the founder and creative director of Arte is More (AIM), an independent project dedicated to the intersection of contemporary art, design, fashion, and visual culture.
