Mycelium: Opening the Doors to the Invisible Network
My Open Studio is not merely an exhibition, but an act of radical transparency: opening the doors of my workspace means opening the doors to a research rooted in biology and expanded through matter. As a biologist of vision, my research explores the fusion point between being and ecosystem, focusing on the concept of the mycelium—that dense underground network which silently connects every tree and plant form in the forest into a single, pulsing organism.
Similarly, my painting maps the invisible web binding the human being to the surrounding environment. Rejecting synthetic shortcuts, I rely exclusively on raw linen supports and material polyvinilic textures to give body to this ecology of vision. Each work exhibited at Villa Lea is not an isolated object, but a node within this grand relational network—an invitation to rediscover our visceral bond with the original matrix of life.
