Beauty in Michel Oz’s work never inhabits protected spaces. It is a force that moves through the city, making its way among tears, posters, faded colours, and fragments of a form of communication destined to be replaced and forgotten.
With Flower Power, the flower becomes the protagonist of this encounter: a symbol of delicacy, seduction, fragility, and life, it emerges from the chaos of the street without being erased by it. Delicate blossoms take root in wounded surfaces, creating a crossing between what is made to be contemplated and what is made to be consumed.
It is precisely in the shadowy space between these two worlds that Oz’s imagery takes shape, creating something tender and, at the same time, brutal. The violence of the tear caresses the delicacy of the image; a fragility that does not surrender, but instead asserts itself, conquering the canvas like a flower capable of breaking through asphalt and concrete.
