Tasio Open Studio – Les Femmes Fatales

On the occasion of Rome Art Week, the artist Johnny Tasio opens his studio at Vivai Mari with Les Femmes Fatales, a series of works celebrating the female figure as a vital archetype and symbol of transformation.

Through Les Femmes Fatales, presented for the first time on the occasion of Tasio Open Studio, the artist opens his creative space to the public during Rome Art Week, unveiling a series of recent works dedicated to the female figure as archetype, energy, and metamorphic presence.

These paintings are distinguished by a clear and dynamic visual syntax: faceless female figures enveloped in pure chromatic fields, where geometry becomes a symbolic language. The body’s structure is broken down into polygonal modules and saturated hues — greens, reds, ochres, blues — evoking an almost liturgical dimension. The synthetic forms and hieratic frontality recall an archaic figuration, reinterpreted through a fully contemporary visual code, where abstraction and figuration coexist as two vital principles in tension.

The works establish an organic dialogue with their setting, the Vivai Mari, where the female bodies mirror the vitality of the surrounding plants and flowers. Like nature itself, the feminine figure becomes a symbol of fertility, regeneration, and cyclicity, sharing with the vegetal world a common generative structure: the gynoecium — the part of the flower that, after fertilization, gives rise to the fruit — analogous to the human female reproductive system that generates life.

Within this analogy lies the essence of the artist’s reflection: restoring to woman her original status as a creative force and matrix of transformation. Tasio thus transforms the feminine presence into a being that blossoms — not as ornament, but as a generative entity, bearer of beauty, luminous silence, inner fragrance, and a form both delicate and powerful.
