Saturday, October 25th from 9:00 PM, as part of Rome Art Week, Roberta Melasecca and Alberto D’Amico invite you to a slam night: POERESIA. I think and write in a slipshod way.
Everyone is invited to take part – anyone who, deliberately and with intention, chooses to THINK, chooses to WRITE, and does so in a SLIPSHOD way.
Inspired by the essay of Witold Gombrowicz, we believe that writing must no longer be a sterile, self-referential exercise, but rather it should have the courage to stick to the reality we live in.
We believe that writing is not for the writer: writing can no longer afford to exist for itself.
We believe that writing must break free from stylistic forms that trap words and thought.
We believe that writing cannot be perfect, but perfectible — and that it should stop just one moment before, the moment that keeps it free.
We invite anyone who wants to participate to arrive shortly before 9 PM to sign up for the slam: each participant will have 5 minutes at their disposal.
At the end of the competition, everyone will be able to vote for their favorite performer, and then we’ll raise a glass together and enjoy some excellent pizza rustica.
Those who don’t want to wait until the end can nibble on some snacks and have a glass of wine in the meantime.
