David Renka Open Studio

The practical and aesthetic problems in creating a coin or a medal. Saturday 24 Oct. at 11:00 and at 16:00 and Sunday 25th at 4:00.

Whoever pays attention to the change in their pocket, except when standing in front of a vending machine?  And medals?  Only when they are hanging from the neck of an athlete.  As an artist I have had the opportunity to design and execute models for coinage, which meant that I could buy a coffee with a piece of my art!  And for many years I created medals for both private individuals and organizations.  Using this experience, along with practical demonstrations, I want to explain the technical and aesthetic problems that an artist faces when creating a coin or a medal.

The presentation will take place in my studio at via della Pisana 330 on Saturday the 24th October at 11:00AM and will be repeated that afternoon at 4:00PM and also on Sunday the 25th at 4:00PM  The space is limited so please reserve a place by calling me at 380 430 8819.
