Maria Angeles Vila Tortosa, Valencia 1978. Lives and works between Valencia and Rome.

Graduated in Fine Arts and PhD courses in Engraving at the Polytechnic University of Valencia. In her work she re-elaborates some specific themes related to the female world such as domestic life, family affections, motherhood and care. The artist's preferred expressive medium is engraving, an ancient technique with which to talk about feminism and gender stereotypes. The engravings on paper in soft pastel colors tell the microcosm of the artist and are transformed into floors, books, light boxes and wooden boxes in order to create small portable sets or large three-dimensional installations.
