Gaetana, Gabriella Pitarresi
Being able to give shape and concreteness to my feeling with various artistic languages was my lifeline. I have a constant and fervent curiosity for experimentation and research.
Data and contact details

I was born in Sicily and moved to Rome at the age of twenty. I elaborate art in its infinite possibilities of expression, always expressing my feelings, trying to trace new perspectives and experimenting with the use of alternative materials. Due to family tradition, the materials they prefer are yarns and fabrics. In my artistic language I seek transparency and lightness while expressing heavy, strong, traumatic emotions. The degree in fashion design and two years in Sculpture and new technologies gave me the opportunity to expand the boundaries of experimentation moving between fashion and installations. During this journey I had the opportunity to be selected for the event Alta Roma, an experience that gave me the opportunity to study the relationship between body and dress, making clothes deconstructed in shape and materials with an extremely personal fit, Clothes conceived as floating spaces around the body. I love to investigate the balance between empty and full, to linger and listen to the micro, the invisible and be able to grasp the essence of feeling. In my constant search for expression, I have experimented with the use of marble, iron and Hanji paper, the latter used for the exhibition at the Korean Institute in Rome.
