I am trying to understand complex realities. As an expressive tool, I use painting, which is also a means to explore multidimensional systems, following a path that leads the pictorial matter to dissolve, making way for an essential and transcendent idea. The antithetical pair—control and loss of control—is confined within the boundaries of a form inspired by the human figure. Drawing is merely a tool that defines both form and concept, which can either dissolve into the material substance of painting, obeying its physical laws, like water spreading on paper, or, in the case of digital media, remain suspended in a magnetic limbo, persistent in its potential for mutability, only to later be fixed on paper as well. These two contrasting elements suggest a shared origin: the desire to capture, in some way, the mutable, elusive, and fragile essence of the human being.
