Born in 1957, she graduated in sculpture in 1979 from the Academy of Fine Arts in Frosinone under the direction of Professor Alfio Mongelli; she lives and works in Rome.
She creates compositions in which the interpenetration and study of forms, spaces, and materials provide a three-dimensional complement to her painting, in keeping with the sculptural principles of her artistic training.
From 1996 to 2018, she expanded her expertise in third-fire porcelain painting techniques, participating in industry exhibitions and earning national and international awards and recognition, as well as having her work featured in various specialized magazines.
Since 2018, she has been creating dynamic sculptures using Plexiglass—featuring colored glass inserts—and hand-modeled, third-fire painted porcelain. In 2021, she began a series of works conceived as "Essential Narratives," in which informal acrylic painting on canvas is integrated with three-dimensional applications—including canvas, glass elements, metal, plastic threads, and hand-modeled, third-fire painted porcelain—and where the segmented, open frames form an integral part of the artwork, creating continuity with the surrounding space.
Since 2018, she has participated in national and international group exhibitions in Monte Carlo, Barcelona, Rome, Milan, Venice, Treviso, Ferrara, Mantua, Novara, Bellagio, Portofino, Florence, Spoleto, Veroli, Naples, Monreale, Berlin, Madrid, London, Terni, and Città di Castello. She has held solo exhibitions in Milan (2019), Venice (2022), Rome (2019, 2022, 2023), Grad Bogensperk (Slovenia, 2024), Weilburg (Germany, 2026), and Grad Bogensperk (Slovenia, 2026).
Her creative journey is thoroughly described and documented in the monograph published in May 2022, *Silvana Landolfi: l’integrazione della porcellana nelle narrative dell’Arte Contemporanea* (Silvana Landolfi: The Integration of Porcelain into Contemporary Art Narratives), released by Fabrizio Fabbri Editore, as well as in a subsequent presentation and television interview featured on the cultural segment "Mizar" (TG2 RAI) on June 19, 2022.
Since 2024, the artist's creations have undergone a further evolution, encouraging the viewer to “go beyond the context of the image.”
Biographical and critical notes, as well as market valuations, appear in the *Catalogo di Arte Moderna Mondadori* (2019, 2020, and 2021 editions) and the *Atlante di Arte Contemporanea* (published by De Agostini in 2020 and 2021, and by Giunti/Metropolitan N.Y. in 2024 and 2026).
