Data and contact details

Born in 1973 in Catanzaro, he lives and works in Rome.

He graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Catanzaro, directed by Tony Ferro, attending Luigi Magli's painting school and Salvatore Brancato's graphic design courses. In 2006, he founded ‘Studio 54’, a laboratory of artistic experiences. In 2014, with other artists, Paolo Assenza, Arianna Bonamore and Germano Serafini, he opened ‘Spazio Y’, an independent exhibition centre for contemporary art in Rome's suburbs, in which he experiments with artistic work as an intervention in the territory. Since 2004, his painting has focused on the production of photographic images taken underwater, portraying subjects related to the artist's personal life, from friends to family members. Through this visual experience, the artist enters Roman Baroque churches wanting to capture the essence of the amniotic image, offering the form of the instant subtracted from becoming and sublimated, as in an ecstatic rapture of the gaze. From this gaze, his painting enters into landscapes and natures he inhabits, investigating subtle voids and immanent states.
