Mariia Plekhova is an abstract and immersive artist and art-tech innovator. She is the founder of Cyprus Art Week, an international cultural and ecological festival supported by the Government of Cyprus that brought together more than 100 artists and welcomed over 5,000 visitors. Together with the Basel Investor Forum, she also co-founded Art of Connection, a private art and business community.
She develops her projects across Italy, Switzerland, Portugal, Russia, Finland, Malaysia, France, Singapore, and Cyprus. She has participated in more than 20 international exhibitions, and her works are held in public and private collections alongside works by Picasso, Modigliani, and Chagall.
In 2026, she presented a collective VR installation during the World Economic Forum through the Basel Investor Forum and presented her VR installation at Art Basel. She has received two awards from the Italia Media Art Festival and is a curator of its 2026 edition. Her AI-generated short film was presented durin the 60th Venice Biennale. She has also spoken at international conferences and events, including TEDxLUMSA.
Mariia has represented the Lazio Region and Lazio Innova at Maker Faire Rome and developed a limited-edition furniture collection in collaboration with the Italian brand Nicolaquinto
