Laxmi Devi Crivellone @ Rome Art Week

Laxmi Devi Crivellone

The manifestation of the state of being through painting.

Data and contact details

Laxmi Devi Crivellone was born in Rome in November. Passionate about art, photography, literature, animals, and personal freedom, she is currently a Yoga teacher. Her relationship with painting began in childhood, inspired by her mother, who used to paint in front of her. They would spend entire days surrounded by colors, canvases, brushes, and the intense scent of turpentine. It was in this atmosphere that her passion for painting was born, particularly for oil painting, which over the years has developed into an increasingly personal artistic journey, also enriched by her relationship with her partner, who is an artist as well. In 2008, she moved to India, where she lived for approximately seven years. In Rishikesh, she devoted herself to the study of Eastern philosophies and to the realization of a deeply cherished dream: creating a small family home for girls from disadvantaged backgrounds. This intense experience left a profound mark on her sensitivity and artistic expression, initially leading her toward spiritual subjects. Upon returning to Italy, her imagery evolved, and she began painting melancholic dolls, delicate and suspended figures. Today, her artistic research is primarily focused on Woman, represented as strong, authoritative, non-submissive, and free to be herself. Her female figures are mysterious and introspective, suspended on the threshold of a metamorphosis, learning to skillfully weave the fabric of their own identity. Through painting, Laxmi Devi Crivellone explores themes of freedom, femininity, transformation, and emancipation, creating a feminine universe suspended between mystery, vulnerability, and strength.
