Georgina Spengler was born in Athens, Greece, in 1959. At the age of eight, she moved with her family to the United States and later to the Netherlands, where she developed an interest in painting. She attended the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris for a year. Returning to the United States, she studied at the School of Fine Arts at Boston University (Boston, MA) and the Corcoran School of Art in Washington D.C., where she completed her academic training. In 1982, she moved permanently to Rome, where she still lives and works. Since then, she has exhibited continuously, taking part in solo and group exhibitions in Italy and abroad.
She has participated in two artist residencies: Artist at Work, organized by Artbellwald.ch and the Canton of Valais (Bellwald, Switzerland, 2021), and Atelier, MacroAsilo at MACRO – Museum of Contemporary Art in Rome (2019).
In 2023, she received the Contemporary Art Creation Award from the International Federation of Female Artists.
