Nomas Foundation aims at encouraging and promoting the research within contemporary art languages through exhibitions, talks, seminars, residencies (for artists, curators and critics), studies and training in collaboration with academic institutions and schools. The multidisciplinary approaches of the foundation focus on the analysis of global, political and cultural processes originated by the perspective of the artist as a privileged observer of social phenomena.

Founded in 2008 by Stefano Sciarretta and Raffaella Frascarelli, the programme of Nomas Foundation aims at encouraging and promoting the research within contemporary art languages: exhibitions, talks, seminars, residencies (for artists, curators and critics), studies and training in collaboration with academic institutions and schools.The multidisciplinary approaches of the foundation focus on the analysis of global, political and cultural processes originated by the perspective of the artist as a privileged observer of social phenomena.Nomas is a Latin word translating to “nomad”. Ideally it transposes both the idea of a cultural resistance and the possibility to mobilize the social identity.The Foundation actively cooperates with public and private institutions around the world.
