Studio DR - arte has been operating in the field of image, art and architecture for 18 years. Ensures the packaging of a presentation book, catalogs, personal exhibitions.
The 6/12/2016 is the date of the last exhibition in the old headquarters in Via Brunetti 43. The "Studio DR - Spazio Visivo" moves to Via Tolemaide 19 A, Prati-Trionfale, with the possibility of enlarging the activity also to photography, video, music. It is composed of an Exhibition Room called Sala Chagall, a small room called Sala Newton + Magazzino, Bar and services.
The historical site dates back to 1960. From Spazio Alternativo, a self-managed space, the name becomes Visual Space then Studio DR - Spazio Visivo since 2000.
The tradition of Via Brunetti, Piazza del Popolo and the Roman Trident is moved to a district that is also rich in history. The Via Trionfale, ancient Via Triumphalis of the Romans, was the entrance road to the Vatican crossed by the sovereigns, starting from Charlemagne, to be crowned by the Pope. The new headquarters is located in a palace built in 1886 in continuity with the Trionfale way. Via Candia still did not exist: a small river flowed in its place. A small bridge at Via Leone IV, in continuation of Via Trionfale, made it possible to reach San Pietro, today an intersection full of traffic and tourists queuing.
Via Leone IV was considered a border of Rome before the periphery, but I believe that now Rome must come out of a centralist dimension and acquire a metropolitan dimension also from a cultural point of view: painting must get out of limits and acquire new spaces. In the year 2000, the undersigned takes over the management of the gallery named Studio DR-Spazio Visivo, or even more simply STUDIO DR - Arte, on the one hand to signal a certain continuity and on the other to mark the autonomy of the choices and the new line of the gallery: an experimental line, of 'Studio'- place of exchange of ideas and experiences - promotional towards artists not yet known, open to' synergies' of other fields such as design, photography, fashion, or still fueled by a passion for ancient books, African art and ancient majolica.
