The IL PASTELLO Gallery was born in the early 90s from the passion for art of the gallery owner Marcello Persica. Initially located in the historic Via Margutta, the IL PASTELLO Gallery focuses its market on the graphics of the author. In the 90s Persica boasts direct collaborations with artists of the caliber of Mario Schifano, Antonio Possenti, Luca Alinari, Pino Procopio and Franz Borghesi of which Persica had exclusive etchings.
The IL PASTELLO Gallery then expanded its interest in the promotion of the unique piece by focusing attention on the research linked to the artists of the School of Piazza del Popolo, without ever neglecting the promotion of the work of contemporary artists of which it still supports the work by organizing solo and group exhibitions, often accompanied by the exhibition of the works of the great masters.
With attention and care, Marcello Persica personally takes care of the selection of the works that he proposes to his public and maintains professional relationships with historical colleagues and young curators by participating in the creation of always new artistic and cultural projects.
The IL PASTELLO Gallery has participated in major National Fairs promoting the work of numerous Roman artists, combining the work of the masters of Roman Pop Art with that of the masters of Forma Uno and the Scuola di San Lorenzo.
Since 201 4 IL PASTELLO by Marcello Persica is part of the galleries located within the Spazio Plus Arte Puls, located in Viale Mazzini 1, Rome. This new location and the large central hall of the Spazio, the heart of the place and shared gallery, have allowed Persica to expand its research in the artistic field with particular attention to trends in the contemporary art market, without ever interrupting its work of promotion and enhancement of the unique works and graphic works of the masters of the history of Italian art.
