PROSA_contemporanea
PROSA_contemporanea is an independent, multifunctional cultural space in the heart of Rome, established through the transformation of a former pastry shop into a dynamic environment for contemporary culture. On 18 September 2026, the space celebrates its first year of activity.
Conceived as a place where different practices, disciplines and communities can meet, PROSA_contemporanea is structured around two distinctive elements: the kitchen, understood as a convivial space and a catalyst for interaction, and the loggetta, a small green area reclaimed from the building’s original volume, creating an unexpected sense of openness within the urban fabric.
The space brings together an architecture studio, a coworking environment, facilities for meetings and professional training, and an exhibition space dedicated to contemporary artistic research, with particular attention to the fertile territory where art, architecture and design intersect.
Rather than functioning solely as an exhibition venue, PROSA_contemporanea operates as an open platform for cultural production and exchange. Its programme is grounded in the belief that contemporary culture can emerge from encounters between different forms of knowledge, professional practices and creative languages. Exhibitions, conversations, projects and shared experiences become opportunities to create connections and encourage new perspectives.
During its first year, PROSA_contemporanea has progressively developed an interdisciplinary programme, establishing itself as an independent space committed to contemporary culture and to the creation of meaningful dialogue between artists, architects, designers, curators, professionals and audiences.
