Scaramouche

Emanuele Druid Napolitano's solo exhibit

Emanuele Druid Napolitano (1976, Rome) creates paintings, drawings, films and mixed-media artworks. Napolitano creates works that can be seen as social portraits which emphasize some oppressive and ambiguous aspects of the contemporary society. Through a combination of text and drawing he challenges the deeper meaning of the image, beyond the aesthetic appearance of the surface. His works represent a diary of memories, a memorandum of today, a macro-portrait of contemporary everyday life. The characters take shape from the need to examine the relationships between society and identity and the connections between images and social behaviors. The texts and the colors follow a precise rhythm, marking a shared experience that leads to reflect on the value and the life of each contemporary image.
