Sottovoce

An artist's work is always connected to the mysterious shocks of life.
The acute sensitivity towards the phenomena of existence leads to different states of mind, sometimes apparently irreconcilable with each other.
After the expressive exuberance of Circus, the first solo exhibition by Agata Maria Spampinato, with its polychrome and expressionist aesthetic connotations, from the ontological references to the circus show, up to the cinematographic glimpses, the artist decides to enter a period of introspection, to think on the depths of the soul, in proximity to silence.
The figures of the Circus clowns thus characterized change into portraits suspended in a human still life.
Agata Maria Spampinato's painting therefore becomes ataraxic, imminent, meditative. An expectation of the phenomenon to come permeates the 15 works of Sottovoce, in an almost Leopardian yearning which however does not give up the chromatic joy and the hope of the beauty to come.
