FROM THE GREEKNESS OF FORM TO JONICITY OF STYLE

Antonio Cersosimo is a sculptor and artist born in Crucoli in 1945. He has exhibited in Italy, France, Germany, Spain, Sweden, Hungary, and North America. Metaphysical, neo-realist, with strong social commitment he sculpts on wood, onyx, marble, and various stones. He makes bronze sculptures and ternary alloy embossings, emphasizing the "jonicity" of his style, finding it in the softness of lines and forms, and in the revolutionary approach that places man at the center of his creativity.

Cersosimo's "Jonicity" finds its soul in the incessant movement of the sea, whose waves, ebbing and flowing, shape the stones, restoring, millennia later, the static nature of Greek models, regenerated into forms of sinuous beauty.

The energetic flow of the hands of the sea strips bodies of their materiality, shaping threadlike subjects. ethereal even in their plasticity, in an unprecedented space-time dimension.
