HIC ET SEMPER

JACOPO TRUFFA

On Saturday, October 15, 2022 at 6pm will be inaugurated at Galleria La Nica in Rome the exhibition "HIC ET SEMPER", a solo show by Roman artist Jacopo Truffa, curated by Maria Vittoria Marchetta, created for the seventh edition of Rome Art Week, the Capital's contemporary art week.

The exhibition marks yet another stage in the collaboration between Jacopo Truffa and Galleria La Nica that began in 2017, on the occasion of the second edition of RAW, and which also saw the artist exhibit at La Nica's Palermo venue during the 12th edition of the Manifesta Biennial.

"HIC ET SEMPER," which literally means here and always, aims to overturn the concept of temporality of the famous Latin locution "hic et nunc" (here and now) to offer the viewer a key to interpret Jacopo Truffa's current and past artistic production.

Born in 1987, raised and educated in Rome, the artist clearly has a very close relationship with the Capital; the various artworks on display, sculptures, photographs and installations created over a period of time ranging from 2011 to 2022, reflect the complex and profound relationship that the artist has established - consciously and unconsciously - with the city that par excellence represents a "HIC ET SEMPER" in the eyes of the whole world.
