In this exhibition entitled "Under the Volcano," Salvatore Pulvirenti presents a nucleus of works painted especially for this occasion. As the title suggests, the works gather the synthesis of the two cultures that the artist has always permeated in his creative production: the Italian and the Japanese.

Thinking of the symbol of his island: Sicily and the volcano Etna and the Fuji-yama volcano symbol of another island: Japan. These new works that very much reflect this torrid summer present < colors that blind, that alert the senses to their exasperation - reflections of absolute light, of tragic Sicilian joy - remaining suspended in the abstract definition of the signs that make up the pictorial space, gathered in the symbolic order that realizes and organizes the narrative form, constuded in the decisive strokes that arrange immediate appearances ... Everything remains on the surface sinking, paradoxically, into that "nothingness" of which, after all, everything, every representation, in the order of depiction is a symbol. (Tito Marci)>.
