Eddie Peake presents People, his fourth exhibition at the gallery in Rome.The show features recent paintings in four distinct series, including vast works that resemble cinema screens, and small wooden panels. People focuses on one specific area of Peake's artistic creativity: painting.At the heart of the exhibition there is a question of how one reconciles one's own identity, position and responsibilities as an individual in relation to broad social issues.The exhibition brings together over twenty works in acrylic, oil paint, and spray paint, and marks a departure from the artist's multimedia approach to previous exhibitions, where his works have been shown in immersive environments, featuring - often simultaneously - performance, sound and music, sculpture, painting, video projections, and large scale installations.
