As a ray of light that passes through a prism is decomposed into the seven colors of the visible spectrum, so man can be the sum of the seven vices that tempt his soul. If the purity of light is given by the right mixture of the seven colors of the iris, similarly the consciousness of a person will be the right balance of the seven vices. The problem is in the excesses, because of which morals are corrupted and the conscience deteriorates becoming black as tar or cold as a sheet of metal.
