Poems by Marco Cioffi
Curated by Giacomo Von Normann
Presentation
Dance in Poetry is an intersection project, born from experimental research on forms of communication. It is a different look, a non-ordinary vision of the performative space. It is a pervasive synaesthetic experience that flows through a vacuous and impalpable reality that becomes work.
Dance, live painting and poetry generate so, the communication space for a new language.
The body expressiveness and dimensionality of the gestures of the dancer Lorena Ercolani, will interact with the shapes and colors produced by the improvisation of the painter Suri (Sara Alletto).
The performer's interaction will be directed only by the recitation of the poems in Marco Cioffi's book "Agonies of Civilisation", performed live by the actress Federica Colucci, then moved by the pathos that poetic verses will communicate.
Merging into a phrasing of mute brushstrokes and theatrical bodily forms, the performance will become an experential exchange beyond the usual expressive boundaries. This artistic contact will take place through a transparent surface, which if on the one hand seems to separate the artists, on the other hand it will actually bring them closer, creating a set of relationships, on multiple levels of expressiveness and contamination. Words, gestures and bodies will chase one another, completing each other.
The performance aims to make people observe, in the silence of an image in motion, the infinite echo of reflections that can be translated from it and into words. At the same time, it suggests tracing other images, carved among the verses dissolved in the text, which outline the invisible thickness of artistic interaction.
