"AND THEN YOU ONLY HAVE THE MEMORY", painting, by Kyrahm and his father Anselmo Chessa.
On the occasion of the video art project "Memento Vivere, a work that will end in 20 years" Kyrahm painted a picture with her father. In this videoperformance, children and parents are filmed in one of the most significant moments of their existence: they confide in each other everything they would like to say before the last farewell. And in 20 years, those who remain will return to tell the promises (kept or not), the memories, the nostalgia, the successes and the failures of the pact made.
The painting "And then you only have the memory remains" was born from a collaboration between Kyrahm and his father, also an artist (also painter, artisan and performer). In this synergy, father and daughter are wrapped in an embrace and are an integral part of the painting. They had colored each other in an act of love.
When I will be alone, how many times I will lie down on this painting?

Artist's Film of a live performance in 2016 for the Venice International Performance Art Week with exponents of the historical body art. Presented in a completely exceptional way in exclusive and controlled situations for the topics covered and the lives involved who have decided to show themselves by stripping body and soul.
The performance took place in a noble palace of the 1600s. The public is invited to cross the various guests each time to come to terms with their most hidden emotions: in the first room Pepijoy, despite the terminal illness, finds the strength to share a message of hope, in the second there is Lilli, an LGBT activist who made the public listen to the tapes with the recorded voice of her companion Teresa, lost after 23 years of love; a middle-aged woman observes her own face marked by time and retraces her existence. The same neonat, daughter of two homosexual mothers, is present in Lilli's room in a poignant reference between death and life, presence and absence. There is a strong contrast between the transience of her body and the intensity of her gaze, and even more extreme is the contrast between a mother who plays with her little girl and a son who takes care of his elderly mother. In the last alcove a soprano intones Handel's "Let me cry" while Kyrahm holds a disabled boy, Nicola Fornoni, artist and performer, in an iconographic Pietas.
All the protagonists of this work took part in the performative path by voluntarily showing themselves without skin. Nobody plays a role. Each of them is. Because performance art, unlike theater, is truth.
The role of the voice is fundamental: the voice of those who are no longer there, the voice that changes with time and illness, the lyric soprano that accompanies and elevates. Equally important are the silences: when the soprano stops singing, Nicola and Kyrahm abandon the position of the Pietas, indulge in effusions and kisses and become lovers. Chased away is all pietism, there is only room for an act of love.
"Gender Obsolescence" by Kyrahm and Julius Kaiser (2008 Usa / iTA)
(2009 - among the 30 best gender exploration performances in the world IDKExi, USA; winning work in the performance section of the Arte Laguna di Venezia Award; 2015 best film section Colmizi d'Amore dedicated to Pierpaolo Pasolini, 2016 AESFF, preparatory to the selection for BAFTA, Oscar UK)
The work correlates queer theory, according to which gender is a social construction and body art. A reflection on identity and the body.
"The Jeweler" by Kyrahm and Julius Kaiser (2009 Usa / ITA)
A manifesto work against violence against women, presented in various countries around the world.
"I wanted to transform pain into something beautiful: needles in the back that hold pearl necklaces, rivulets of blood on newborns projected into the skin, power games between genders ..."
