On the occasion of the centenary of Vittorio Caporrella's birth, in close dialogue with the great sculptors of the twentieth century who have passed through the foundry over the years, DaSca's bronzes seem to embody a sense of the term ‘fusion’ that is as material as it is existential. Semi-anthropomorphic figures with a vaguely ancestral spirit, these “forms in search of form” – created through a skilful dialectic of solids and voids – seem to question themselves (and us) about a way of constructing identity that cannot be separated from the relationship with the Other.
They are knot-like forms, beings intertwined, embraced, welcomed, and kneaded into a material that seems animated by a continuous flow. These are works in which DaSca's constant social commitment resonates once again, reminding us that there is no “I” without ‘We’ and that bonds are fundamental acts that come to life in the care of the Other and solidify in the “slow time” of fusion.
