Marco Polo: The Journey of the Soul
It was in the heart of Venice that Marco Polo was born,
a child of wind and silk.
He was not merely a merchant,
but a pilgrim of imagination,
a traveler who followed the stars
and listened to the silence of the sands.
As a youth, he left the lagoon,
carrying curious eyes and the courage
of one who does not fear the horizon.
He crossed deserts that sing at sunset,
mountains that touch the sky,
and rivers that flow like thoughts.
He arrived at the court of Kublai Khan,
where time seemed suspended
and every word was a bridge between worlds.
For years, he witnessed wonders:
cities of stone and silk,
gardens suspended in dreams,
peoples who danced with the sky.
He gathered it all in his heart
and transformed it into a tale: Il Milione,
a book that is not merely a chronicle,
but enchantment.
Marco Polo,
poet of distances,
messenger of the elsewhere,
taught mankind to look beyond the sea
and to dream with open eyes.
