During the Open Studio Day, you are invited to visit Betterpress Lab, an artistic and artisanal letterpress printing studio. We will showcase and share the history and stories behind the machinery and tools that have been rescued from the typographic tradition and now revived to give voice to new interpretations, experimentation, and forms of research. The space offers an intriguing fusion of a workshop where type is hand-set and printed, and an ever-evolving creative atelier. The displayed works reflect ten years of workshops, educational programs, and collaborations with artists, poets, illustrators, calligraphers, and anyone who has chosen our typefaces to give voice to thoughts and ideas. At 4:00 PM, we will open our doors, and you’ll catch us in action, giving you the opportunity to explore the hidden life of an ancient craft. Until 7:00 PM, we will be happy to answer all your questions and curiosities.
