A private collection of 23 aerial photographs (aerial photogrammetry) from 1972 surveys the landscape between Melfi and Rionero in Vulture, documenting the area in the preparatory phase for the SS 658 highway—an infrastructure also strategic for the Fiat plant’s industrial expansion in Melfi. This private photographic archive transcends its technical function to stand as a contemporary artwork, bearing witness to the Vulture’s metamorphosis during the era of Italy’s major postwar infrastructural projects.
