Photographic exhibition dedicated to the AGAPANTHUS
flowerPhotography, tailoring, architecture: a visual narrative made of seasons, cycles, and metamorphoses
By Ilaria Di Giustili
A complex artistic project that intertwines the three disciplines:
- photography, the gaze that preserves;
- tailoring, the garment that becomes sculpture;
- architecture, the space that welcomes.
The theme that unites them is the AGAPANTHUS flower, as form, symbol, and material. A visual journey that allows viewing it from different perspectives.Each discipline — photography, tailoring, architecture — speaks in this project.
It all begins in Ilaria’s garden where the AGAPANTHUS blooms, and she photographs them. She observed, contemplated, and immortalized them, and now she presents them in a visual narrative made of seasons, cycles, and metamorphoses.
The collected and dried flowers become material to "wear." A tailoring project that transforms into a sculpture, a garment that is both fragile and powerful. The transparent tulle is the invisible support that holds the shape of the flower.
The garden will welcome you, transforming into rooms, small pavilions in a nocturnal atmosphere.
PHOTOGRAPHY, TAILORING, ARCHITECTURE share creativity, design, and the relationship with space and the human being. All three deal with measurement, cutting, and vision. A living installation, a temporary architecture, a garden/museum that lives within its vision.
