The photographic exhibition "IN LOVE WITH THE STREETZ" by Amil Tha CLKRS, is part of the three-person exhibition curated by Valeria Cirone and Natalia Gryniuk. The space, inspired by the ancient "Wunderkammer", or "cabinets of wonders", is transformed into a magical place where different art forms intertwine, creating a unique experience for visitors.
Within this framework, the public will have the opportunity to explore works by contemporary artists, participating in stimulating meetings and creative exchanges with artists, curators, writers and theatre actors. Every corner of the "Magic Cabinet" will be an invitation to discover, dialogue and reflect on art in all its facets.
PHOTOGRAPHY
The lower floor is dedicated to the solo exhibition of Amil Tha CLKRS, aka TC, with the project "IN LOVE WITH THE STREETZ" that explores the soul of the street, a place where unwritten rules define life and where everyone finds their role. The street is not just a physical passage, but a microcosm that reflects the experiences, challenges and aspirations of those who live it daily. This project aims to tell the stories that intertwine in this urban context, offering an intense and multifaceted visual representation of the culture that develops between asphalt and concrete. From the faces marked by fatigue and the scars of life, to the artistic expressions of writers and tattoo artists, figures who transform the street into a canvas and who, through their graffiti and tattoos, become the narrators of its raw and vibrant energy.
Through careful design of the installations, the aim is to stimulate the visitor to reflect on the meaning of the works, contextualizing them in an environment that enhances their characteristics and amplifies their message. This approach aims not only to present the works, but also to involve the public in an immersive experience, in which every element, from the lighting to the layout of the spaces, plays a fundamental role in building a coherent and evocative narrative. In this way, the visitor is not simply a passive observer, but becomes an active part of a journey of discovery and dialogue, capable of arousing emotions and reflections.
A 360° exhibition, for those who love art and want to experience an atmosphere of sharing, discovery and inspiration.
PAINTING
The upper floor is dedicated to Ji-yoon Oh's solo exhibition where material painting merges with abstract painting. Oh Ji-yoon's work is based on a high-definition canvas with a deep painterly nature. Her achromatic and monochromatic screens are already fully in line with the research of materials and exploration of the physical properties of screens that modernist painting has pursued. The artist neglects the natural flow of materials by using the property of drawing, spraying and spreading, and to control it, she uses mixed pigments with strong adsorption capacity to create irregularities on the canvas or control the materials. The achromatic shade screen, which absorbs materials abundantly thanks to the positive property of the canvas, seems to oppose the flatness of the crossed material and the protruding part, but soon becomes one with the screen and accords with it. The artist uses gold, jade, adamantine, etc., to seek perfection on the canvas with intelligent figures or geometric patterns, while preaching a message of hope and light. Ji-yoon Oh's paintings clearly reveal the characteristics of abstract painting, which starts from avoiding the atypical forms pursued by Informal painting, that is, avoiding all the forms that we commonly conceive as such. However, nature is present in her work, life is lively, and she exudes a pictorial charm that makes us reflect on the gap between reality and ideals.
