Critical text by Flavia Pittalis
October 25 – 27, 2024

Emotions: this is what Franca Corazza wants to share through her works. In them, time slows down, and one gets lost in the beauty of small things. Light takes center stage, carefully studied and enhanced in every stroke, every angle, face, and subject represented.

The artist featured in this exhibition carries with her a fascinating story, marked by contrasts that have enriched her journey. Despite a scientific background, the call of art and the desire to portray reality as seen through her eyes have always remained alive in her heart.

About ten years ago, the artist decided to further enrich her creative path by deepening the skills she had acquired independently through more structured study. This choice led her to attend an art studio, where she was able to refine her technique and nurture a more conscious and mature creativity.

Her pursuit of artistic knowledge was not merely an impulse but a thoughtful and deliberate choice. With her rational approach, Franca Corazza laid solid technical foundations under the guidance of a painter who, even today, remains a valuable source of inspiration. This attention to technique is reflected in her works, where light plays a central role, transforming every subject—whether a face or a still life—into a profound visual and emotional experience.

The choice of oil painting, favored for its ability to reflect light, is the result of a long process of experimentation with various materials. Through her paintings, the artist explores the duality between emotion and rationality, with works ranging from intense portraits—where the gaze and smile capture the emotional essence of the subject—to still lifes and landscapes, all created with meticulous care. In these works, one can sense a wonderful ability to go beyond mere realism, offering an intimate and emotion-rich glimpse into what has inspired her to paint.

Franca Corazza's works do not merely represent places; rather, through the finesse of her strokes and a careful study of light, they invite us to see the world filtered through her emotional gaze, transforming every subject into a unique experience. Each canvas opens a window into her inner universe, offering an intimacy that evokes a personal connection, as if the artist is guiding us with sensitivity and care through the discovery of places and people dear to her. There is no imposition, but rather a sincere desire to convey the emotions that inspire her.

The common thread of the exhibition is precisely emotion: each work represents a moment, a subject that has touched the artist in a unique and unrepeatable way.

This exhibition offers a varied overview of the artist's work, a journey that spans different techniques and subjects, yet maintains a clear common thread: emotion and light as tools to capture reality and convey sensations through the canvas.
