On Tuesday 25 October, Tommy will meet the visual artist Monica Pirone at his atelier to make together a pop-up page. Their synergy will result in a fusion of styles: Monica will utilize Tommy's patterns and drawings depicting his iconic dancing characters and resort to her own technique to create an original artwork. The public will be free to attend the event in parallel to the weekly exhibition of Tommy's paintings.
Monica Pirone is a visual artist born in Rome and formed at the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome, Faculty of Scenography. Her main artworks, which deal with social issues (e.g. women's empowerment, gender violence and immigration), have been displayed in several art installations and group exhibitions. She worked as street artist in support of civil lawsuits with the International House of Women and the youth detention centre in Rome. She also founded a school of painting in the suburbs of Rome where she teaches how to spread and enhance art in suburban areas.
