24.10

Porte Rosse celebrates its first anniversary with SGABLIATO and inaugurates its new annual project “24.10”: a project dedicated to artists and their relationship with public space.

Altitude — उचाइ

A red metal sheet has appeared on Porte Rosse's wall.

It comes from Gorakshep, the last inhabited village before the Everest base camp.

It carries with itself the rarefied wind of altitude, the memory of a border, the weight of a journey.

But it is not just an object.

It is  window.

A threshold between worlds, between heights and plains, between remote silences and urban noises.

A dialogue between our research and our city, between art and the San Lorenzo neighbourhood.

We want to observe how the community reacts, approaches, questions.

How a fragment can start a conversation, generate a new perspective.

24.10 — An action, a window, a community

On the occasion of its first birthday Porte Rosse inaugurates the new annual project 24.10: a project dedicated to artists and to their relation to the public space.

Each intervention will be an act of presence, an urban gesture, an invite to participate.

Guest of the first edition is SBAGLIATO, a project born in 2011 by three roman architects and designers, which with its interventions opens imaginary “gates” in the urban architecture. And so the iconic photo of the construction site affixed between the red doors since the opening day, makes room to a new vision.

“Art not as decoration, but as tension.

Not as an reply, but as a question.” — SBAGLIATO

Happy to inaugurate this annual tradition, Porte Rosse invites everyone Friday 24 October from 6 pm to take the first step in a story that, year after year, will accompany the evolution of the space.
