"What Remains" artwork of Alessandro Marziano, is an exhibition divided into two gestures. On one side, oil paintings recount the traces left by human passage: fears, passions, reflections that settle on the canvas through glazes and drips. On the other, a series of mixed-media drawings on cardboard generates a fracture: the humble, recycled material bears the folds of its past, the scars of transport, the breath of the urban peripheries it portrays. The graphic gesture here seeks a new dignity: it transforms waste into a noble surface, but does not erase its experience: it amplifies it. Both gestures seek a new dignity for what has been forgotten. For what remains.
