THE BOOK REBORN
Bookfolding exhibition, workshop and readings
October 20–25, 2026
Arricrea APS – Via Luca Valerio 13, Rome

As part of Roma Art Week, Arricrea presents "The Book Reborn," an exhibition dedicated to the works of artist Michela Stanciu, who uses the bookfolding technique to transform used, discarded or damaged books into original paper sculptures and artworks.

The book thus becomes artistic material: its pages, folded and shaped, give rise to new forms without erasing their history and identity — a process of transformation that brings art, creativity and reuse into dialogue, restoring value to objects otherwise destined to be forgotten.

The exhibition will be accompanied by meetings, experimentation and reading sessions, exploring the book through different forms of expression.

PROGRAM

Tuesday, October 20 – OPENING | 5:00–9:00 PM
The opening day includes the presentation of the exhibition, the chance to meet artist Michela Stanciu and watch live bookfolding demonstrations, to discover the technique and creative process behind the works on display.

5:30–6:30 PM: Presentation of La Tana APS and a reading session, held in collaboration with the cultural association.

October 21–25 – Exhibition | 5:00–8:00 PM
Open to the public daily from 5:00 to 8:00 PM.

Friday, October 23 | 5:30–6:30 PM
Second reading session, in collaboration with La Tana APS.

"The Book Reborn" invites viewers to see the book from a new perspective: not just as a container of stories and words, but as an object capable of transforming itself into a work of art. A journey from word to form, from reading to art, from a forgotten book to a new story to tell.
