RENATA SCHUSSHEIM — FULGOR
Curated by Romina Del Prete
Rome, October 17–30, 2026 — Contart Gallery, Via dei Gracchi 18
FULGOR presents in Rome the work of Renata Schussheim, a leading figure in contemporary Argentine art.
The exhibition brings together works in which female figures, swimmers, and hybrid creatures inhabit landscapes suspended between reality and imagination.
Water, the body, and darkness become central elements of a visual language shaped by metamorphosis and transformation.
Light emerges as a moment of revelation, bringing to the surface what remains hidden.
Curated by Romina Del Prete, the exhibition highlights the theatrical and performative dimension that defines Schussheim’s practice.
Over more than six decades, the artist has explored painting, drawing, theatre, dance, opera, and costume design.
Her multidisciplinary practice has engaged with major figures of Argentine and international culture.
In 2024, Schussheim received the Premio Teatro del Mondo for Lifetime Achievement and, in 2023, was named Distinguished Cultural Figure of the City of Buenos Aires.
FULGOR offers an intimate and immersive experience, where the image becomes a threshold between the visible and the invisible, darkness and light.
