La Via interrotta. Fotografie di Karmen Corak
a cura di Luisa De Marinis
The exhibition offers a reflection on the loss of traditional hand papermaking techniques in China, photographs realized in 2005 by the author during her research trip in the Far East . The b/w images of Paper Road are compared to a more recent color photograph, in which large faded red stones, with a strong symbolic value, evoke an imaginary spiritual and political condition. In this last image, of large dimensions, the general feeling of suspension and interruption with the past, aroused in the author by the experience of traveling to remote places of a country in profound transformation.
