Giulia Di Pasquale
"Il sedimento è il paese in cui si intesse il tuo dramma."
Data and contact details

Giulia Di Pasquale was born in 1999 in Rome, where she lives and works.

In 2024 she graduated from the Academic Master of Art course in painting  in RUFA (Rome University of Fine Arts), and the teaching qualification in graphic, painting and scenography disciplines, at the academy of fine arts of L' Aquila.

She is currently an academic lecturer, for winter and fall "corsi brevi" and academic tutor at Rufa, and is also a teacher of painting disciplines at Spazio Studi Flaminio private high school in Rome.

In 2022 she received a bachelor's degree in Painting, also from RUFA.

In her research, she mainly uses painting to investigate the essence of matter in relation to forms; a relationship that is both fragile and generative of tension.

Her painting is a living body, organic matter in continuous transformation. It is an accumulation of memory and matter that breathes, contracts and expands.

The forms that emerge arise from a hybridization of organic and inorganic elements: rocks, mountains, fragments of nature that dissolve, becoming ambiguous presences suspended between figuration and abstraction. The subject is revealed in the sediment, undergoing many folds and deformations that make the Figure that is generated, grow in absolute independence from representation.

Her work invites the viewer to pause, to decipher the image without looking for an unambiguous meaning, allowing herself to be guided by Sensation.

Art is not mere representation, but a perceptual experience that reactivates the deep connection between humans and the world. In a relentlessly flowing time, painting becomes an act of resistance, a space where the visible and invisible meet, revealing the fragile essence of the existence.
