I am a non-binary artist and a transfeminist activist with Lucha y Siesta. I live and work in Rome.
My practice begins with encounters: with people, bodies, places, and the stories that move through them. I am interested in art as a form of listening and as a way of gathering what often remains at the margins: memories, experiences, bodies, desires, conflicts, and forms of resistance.
I work with the body, memory, territory, and relationships. Sometimes I begin with my own trans body and my relationship with it; other times with a place or with the story of those who inhabit it. This also leads me to explore gender, drag, representation, and public space. I move between relational art, drawing, sound, microsculpture, photography, video, performance, and installation.
My transfeminist perspective runs through this research: It leads me to question how bodies are represented, whose lives are listened to, and whose remain invisible. It also makes me question creative processes: how can patriarchal models be dismantled and new ways of making art be found collectively? In recent years, this research has become intertwined with my work on gender-based violence and discrimination, through artworks, performances, workshops, teaching, and talks at universities and in public spaces.
I like to think of my work as a way of sensing reality. I listen, welcome, transform, and give back. I try to make art into a megaphone, but also into a space of care and possibility: a space where individual experiences can become shared memory and, from there, open up new imaginaries.
