Monica Sarandrea
Her artistic research is based on a constant dialogue between literature, especially French symbolism, and Eastern philosophies. Her works are the result of a research deeply connected to nature and its spiritual dimension.

Monica Sarandrea

Monica Sarandrea lives and works in Rome. She graduated in Languages and Foreign Literatures and subsequemtly attends the art courses at La Porta Blu Art School in Rome from 2004, where she is tutored by artist Alberto Parres. She develops her painting skills working on chromatic and depth of field, gradually moving from figurative art to abstraction. She also studies engraving with artist Roberto Pace and from 2011 she starts working on sculpture focusing on materials such as clay, plaster and marble. From 2011 to 2013 she takes part in marble workshops in the island of Thassos (Greece). From 2006 she takes part in exhibitions in art galleries and institutional spaces, contemporary art festivals in Italy and abroad including RvB Arts, MICRO Arti Visive, Centro Culturale Gabriella Ferri, Ex Dogana (Rome), Ca’ dei Carraresi (Treviso,Italy), Artbox Project (New York), Galerie L’Atelier (Hünibach, Switzerland), Sculptures in Chigi Park (Ariccia), A60 Contemporary Art Space (Milan), Festival del Tempo (Sermoneta), Galleria Spazio Arte Petrecca (Isernia), Museo Archeologico (Altamura), Fondazione Pomarici Santomasi (Gravina). Pavart gallery (Roma), Art gap (Roma), Strati d'Arte (Roma), Sincresis (Empoli), Onart Gallery (Firenze). In 2023 she wins the first prize for sculpture at the Biennale of International Art of the Roman Riviera (Ladispoli).                                                                                                    From 2010 her solo exhibitions take place in art galleries and institutional spaces such as Il Laboratorio, Creative Room Art Gallery, Villa Corsini-Sarsina (Anzio), Sala Orsini (Formello), Studio Tiepolo 38 (Rome), Lumina (Rome), Galleria Triphè (Rome).In 2016 two sculptures enter the permanent collection at MAAM – Museo dell’Altro e dell’Altrove, Rome. Her works can be found in private collections in Italy, Europe and Japan.
