Daniele Cametti Aspri
Photographer, author, and trailer artist.
Born in Rome in 1968.
In 1989 he founded Acting News, a professional film magazine that he still directs today in its digital form — a long-standing reference point for Italian film industry information and production culture.
In 2000 he established a post-production and authoring company that creates film trailers, DVDs, and Blu-rays for leading Italian distributors.
His experience as a trailer creator — where every frame must carry the essence of an entire story — profoundly shaped his visual language, blending narrative rhythm, emotional synthesis, and visual consciousness. For Cametti Aspri, the image is not just representation but revelation: a fragment of truth suspended in time.
In the mid-2000s he turned toward authorial photography as a more intimate and existential form of exploration. After studying at Officine Fotografiche Roma and working with masters such as Massimo Siracusa, Tiziana Faraoni, Lina Pallotta, and Maurizio G. De Bonis, he developed a personal language that merges cinematic sensibility with contemplative observation of reality.
Influenced by American photographers like Stephen Shore, Robert Adams, and Todd Hido, as well as by Italian masters Luigi Ghirri and Gabriele Basilico, Cametti Aspri has built a poetic vision of light as the boundary between the visible and the invisible.
He defines himself as a “zero-kilometer photographer”, rooted in the places he inhabits, revealing the extraordinary within the ordinary and the spiritual within the real.
“Photography, for me, is an act of consciousness. I don’t record reality — I contemplate it until I can recognize myself within it.”
In recent years, his work has expanded into a broader reflection on the relationship between images and human awareness, exploring how vision shapes perception, identity, and reality itself.
From this vision were born “Tutto è Illuminato” (All Is Illuminated), a documentary and visual-spiritual research project on the image as a mirror of consciousness; “Orientare lo Sguardo” (Orienting the Gaze), a modular educational program on visual literacy and perceptual awareness; and “Visioni Condivise” (Shared Visions), a cultural network connecting photography, cinema, and social reflection.
Today, Cametti Aspri’s artistic inquiry moves between science and spirituality, light and consciousness, image and revelation — using both photography and the cinematic trailer as tools to explore how images can condense, evoke, and transform reality.
He has exhibited his works since 2012 in solo and group shows, festivals, and major art fairs such as MIA Photo Fair, Rome Art Week, and TodiEdu Festival.
He lives and works in Rome.
